We recently headed down to London for MAD//Fest, taking our place inside the MAD//North Lounge for three packed days of conversations, competition and very little sitting down.

After the success of MAD//Fest North, the London event gave us the chance to bring a bit of Edison Media to one of the UK’s biggest marketing festivals.

MAD//Fest was sold out, with more than 7,000 people expected each day, and the lounge quickly became a busy meeting point for brands, agencies, partners and attendees looking to connect with the North.

From our space in the lounge, we spent the event meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces and talking about the work we are delivering across media planning, out-of-home, digital, content and campaign production.

We also brought a bit of healthy competition with us.

Our buzzer game became a proper crowd-puller across the three days, with attendees, exhibitors and a few very competitive agency people all trying their luck. It gave people a reason to stop, get involved and start a conversation, which is exactly what good event presence should do.

For us, that was the value of being there.

MAD//Fest gave us the chance to show up properly, not just as attendees, but as an agency with something to say and something people wanted to engage with.

It was busy, loud, hot and full on, but it was also a reminder that face-to-face events still have a real place in the industry. The best conversations often happened between sessions, over the buzzer game, or when someone stopped by because they had seen the lounge filling up.

A huge thank you to Cindy Simmons and the MPA team for helping bring the MAD//North Lounge together, and to everyone who came over to speak to us across the three days.

As an independent Manchester agency, we are proud to represent the North at national events like this.

MAD//Fest gave us the platform. We made sure we used it.
